Tips
Texel has a lot to offer. Curious about what we recommend? Read below for a few tips!
Breakfast

Wouter Bakker
Just a stone's throw from Nº 9 is Wouter Bakker's micro-bakery. An artisanal baker who makes the best croissants. Tip: be on time or place an order, as his products sell out quickly.

* Open on Saturdays and Sundays from 08:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

De Texelse Branding
In Den Burg you'll find Texel's own coffee roastery, complete with a coffee bar and bakery. A great (and tasty!) spot for both breakfast and lunch.
Tip: a few days a week, the place transforms into a restaurant and wine bar: Branding & Citrus.

Kaap Noord
At 'Paal 33', in the northern part of Texel, you'll find Kaap Noord, an authentic pavilion with stunning views over the Wadden Sea. A great tip for starting the day in a relaxed way. The breakfast selection is small, but from 11 AM they also serve delicious sandwiches.

Lunch

Bries 20
Bries 20 is a trendy hotspot on Texel's beach, just a stone's throw from Nº 9. The menu mainly features small dishes with an Asian twist.

Tip: Want to spend the day soaking up the sun? At Bries 20, they rent out beach loungers on the terrace!

Novalishoeve
The Novalishoeve is a great stop during a bike ride towards the south of Texel. Take a look around the bio care farm and enjoy some treats at the day café. At the Novalishoeve, they serve honest (homemade) products from their own land, such as crispy breads, beautiful cakes, and tubs of creamy ice cream.

't Pakhuus
At 't Pakhuus, you can have lunch (or dinner) in one of Texel's most distinctive buildings. The restaurant is located in a unique spot: the harbor of Oudeschild. When it comes to lunch, the possibilities are endless. Go for a "simple" lunchplate or salad, enjoy a beautiful sole, fruits de mer or indulge in an elaborate 3, 4, 5, or 6-course menu.
Dinner

Paal 17 De Eerste Etage
Dinner with a view! On the first floor of Strandpaviljoen Paal 17 Aan Zee, you'll find the shared fine dining restaurant 'Paal 17 De Eerste Etage'. The restaurant serves small dishes that are perfect for sharing. Combined with the delicious wines, dining at this unique location makes for the perfect night out.
Also, a great tip at this beach entrance: Club 17!

De Taveerne
The Taveerne is a cozy restaurant located in the center of De Koog. The great atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food make The Taveerne one of our go-to restaurants in De Koog.
For "Koger" standards, The Taveerne has a large terrace where you can relax and enjoy your time.

Sjans
For a great piece of meat, head to café-restaurant Sjans! But you don’t visit Sjans just for the meat – the menu is full of delicious classics, and the Thai dishes are also highly recommended. The food is great, the atmosphere is relaxed, and if you’re in the mood, you can stay late and even hit the dance floor.

Activities

Shrimp fishing with the TX20
By far our number one favorite activity when we have visitors: shrimp fishing. Out on the Wadden Sea with a cutter, shrimp fishing, the wind in your hair, and authentic commentary.

Also fun: the seal-watching and mudflat tours.

Visit a brewery
Texel is known for its beer brewing. We highly recommend a visit to 'Brouwerij & Stokerij TX' in Oosterend or 'Texels', the brewery behind Texel's most famous beer: Skuumkoppe.

Cycling on Texel
Cycling on Texel – a no-brainer! When the weather allows, there’s nothing better than exploring the island by bike (or any other two-wheeler) and adding plenty of (Burgundian) pit stops along the way.
You didn't bring a bike? We recommend Fietsen op Texel to rent your bicycle.
